The above is not a useful question. "Pre-auth Required? yes, or no" would be better. You could add a sub-question that asks if it is in Progress. Currently - if an auth is NOT NEEDED - my offices pick the option of "N/A".......which makes me think, they are not checking to see if an auth is needed. Notification / checking to see if an auth is required, is ALWAYS necessary. The N/A option is just confusing.......in my opinion.
I agree it should be yes or no and having a place to put a secondary insurance plan auth would be useful as some of our surgeries may require auth from both plans a patient might be on.
I see how this could be confusing. I only use N/A option when its a selfpay patient but still "no" could be checked for "pre auth required?" section when selfpay as well.
